Trivia

  • If you purchase Gacha with Gems, you will also receive stamina so you can talk more with NPCs in Gacha Life.
  • You can get Gems on Life Mode by leveling up your Friendship Status with NPCs (found while walking around the City, the Beach, etc.)
  • Gacha is a popular thing if you want to kill time in Japan. It is also known as Gachapon.
  • This is a feature is on many Gacha games such as, Gacha Club and Gachaverse.

Life Mode

Life is the key feature of Gacha Life which isn't available in any older games of Lunime. The player can travel to different destinations and interact with any NPCs. However, to get closer to any NPC, the player must have enough Stamina. Purchasing Gacha will recover Stamina quickly, though being idle on Life will recover stamina as well, though more slowly.

The player can also see their Friendship Status to see the Friendship Levels of a NPC, and who isn't unlocked yet.

LifeMode

A Player Next To Luni And Senpaibuns.

Life Mode is an option that is available to all players in Gacha Life, and it has the most unique feature out of all Lunime games. However, this feature is not available on Gacha Club (AKA Gacha Life 2). Once the player select "Life Mode" feature, the player can talk to NPCs, travel to different Locations, and discover hidden locations/portals and NPCs. The character that the player chose out of their Home is the one they play as, but this can easily be changed by choosing any other characters. New players spawn at Hometown.

When the player exits the Life Mode, the character will remain in the same location. The character that the player has moves around whenever the player taps or clicks in any area. The character also turns. The player can move through different locations by tapping or clicking the blue circles that contain an arrow. At any distance, the player can tap/click an NPC to begin interacting with them.

There is a set of buttons at the top of the screen; as well as some information for the player to look at. You can look at it by the example shown in the photo.

In the top left corner of the screen, a button containing the word ’Exit’ with an arrow to the left of the word transfers the screen back to Home. A button directly right to this button contains the word ‘Status’. Here, you can see all the characters you’ve interacted with; their photos, names, and relationship with you (Friendship Levels). If you reach level 10 with the NPC, you can teleport to them. In the middle of the screen is a large rectangle showing your level, stamina, and amount of diamonds currently in your possession. In the top right corner of the screen there is a rectangle. This shows the current location you are at. A smaller button is attached to this, of which contains the word ‘Travel’. By tapping/clicking this button, the player is shown a screen of all locations (except for the NPC's who require a code to reach, such as M o, Ramunade, and M u u) which they can choose to teleport their character to or exit out of that screen.

NPC Friendships

Life mode12

A player talking to an NPC

When the player taps/clicks on an NPC, they will start a conversation with them. On the top left of the speech bubble displays the NPC's name. On the top right is the 'X' button which exits the conversation once tapped/clicked. At the bottom of the speech bubble, it displays Friendship Level and about how much you need to level up.

Below Friendship level is four options which is, Talk, Ask, Gift, and Quiz. At the very bottom is three stars. Two smaller ones and a bigger one. The first one says Lv3, which can be brightened by reaching Friendship Level 3 with the NPC. The second one says Quiz, which is unlocked by completing the quiz. The third one says Lv10, which can be unlocked by reaching Friendship Level 10 with the NPC. The right of the screen is the NPC you are talking to. The left of the screen is the character you are currently using.

Talk

Talk is the option that is available to every player, normally the only option if the player never talked to the NPC and/or the Friendship Level isn’t level 2 and over. It requires 2 Stamina to do so. Talking increases your friendship points by 4-9, NPCs are found over the map in multiple places. Your friendship upgrades your stars on the NPC making them friendly or nicer. The option doesn’t have any requirements to unlock it, and it is a free option.

Ask

A player asking Senpaibuns in Life Mode
Ask is an option you can get in Life Mode. You are able to unlock it by getting to Friendship Level 2. It is the second option you can unlock while interacting with an NPC. It's not all that hard to get since you can get it at just Level 2! You can access this option by interacting with an NPC and clicking on a button with a label named Ask. It’s not a good idea to rush through the ask dialogue because you might find clues or answers for the quiz or hear fascinating facts and things about the NPC you are interacting with! It requires 3 Stamina to use ask. Asking increases your friendship points by 6-15. It’s not a good idea to rush through the NPC’s dialogue because they are useful for the Quiz option, unless you can remember the answers to the NPC’s Quiz or you can’t find any clues for the quiz option.

Here’s an example: A player asked Luni in Life mode and this clue showed up: “My birthday is April 23rd.” That is one of the answers in his quiz and you can get some dialogue that can be a clue for the quiz using the Ask option.

Gift

Gift is the option that is unlocked when the Friendship Level with the NPC is 3 or above. It requires 5 Stamina to do so. Gifting a 1 Star gift increases your friendship points by 10, Gifting a 2 Star gift increases your friendship points by 20, and so on. However, gifting a 6 Star gift increases your friendship points by 500, and the favored gift type dialogue will appear instead of the normal gift dialogue. Gifts are different for each NPC So do not think that you only need one item. Each NPC has their own Favorite Gift. Giving them their favorite gift doubles the friendship points obtained and a special dialogue will appear instead. However, 6 Star gifts are an exception, as they will always fill an NPC’s friendship bar by 500. Each NPC has their own preferred gifts that they like. The link for the gift page is here.

Quiz

A02F207F-F0CC-4E86-948E-ABBC353E36CD

A player taking Luni’s quiz in Life Mode

Quiz is an option in Life Mode where you can answer a NPC’s quiz to get a reward. You can unlock it if you have Friendship Level 5 with a NPC that you want to interact with.

You can access it by interacting with a NPC and clicking on the Quiz option to begin a NPC’s quiz. You have three chances and if all of them run out, you fail the NPC’s quiz. There are options presented which you should pick and if the option you picked is correct, dialogue will show. If you got the question incorrect, you lose a chance and dialogue will show. If you got all of the questions correct, the NPC will say their dialogue. You can find hints to the Quiz questions, so it is better to not spam through the NPC's Ask dialogue.

Quiz is the last option you can get after you unlock the Talk, Ask, and Gift options.

Stamina

Stamina

Stamina is used to interact with NPCs. At the very beginning, when the player is still level 1, the maximum amount of stamina is 200. As you level up, the maximum number of Stamina you can have also increases. For every level you increase, the maximum amount of stamina increases by 5. That means when you are level 100, the maximum amount of Stamina you have is 695. When you give a NPC an item it increases too.

Stamina recovers on their own while being idle on Life Mode but purchasing Gacha with Gems is a way to recover Stamina faster. Each purchased Gacha recovers 1-5 Stamina.

Games

In Gacha Life, there are 8 Games that are available. It is one of the way to get gems. Each game has a certain amount of lives. If the player runs out of lives, the game is over and the player collects their rewards. Their highest score is saved. If the score is high enough, the player is able to see their score in Rankings. You can see what amount of Gems different scores can get you in as well. Games is a feature in most Gacha games, such as Gacha Club and Gacha Life. To play, you have to do certain things before your lives run out, or you will fail in the mini game.

Chat

Chat was one of the features in Gacha Life which is also available in a lot of Lunime Games. The player can see other players' custom character, profile, and level. Due to chat rules being substantially barreled, however, particularly in Gacha Life Chat, the chat option has been removed on all operating systems. such as PC, Android and iOS in the 2020 update, which was intended to remove any 'suggestive features' in newer Lunime games.

The Gacha life chat looks like

Chat mode is a deleted feature where you can talk to other Gacha users in real time. It is only available in Gacha World, Gacha League, Gacha Resort, Pocket Chibi, Gacha Life, Gacha Memories, and many other Lunime games, though Gacha Life requires you to be level 10 before you can be able to access the chat feature. The chat feature is also known as Chat Mode or simply Chat.

How the Chat works

Warning! The Following information is outdated, anything featured in this article may not comply to gameplay.
Chat works like a normal text chat. When you play Gacha Life and access Chat Mode, the chat feature uses your current in-game active character as your chat avatar and gets you to the general channel. You can select other channels of more specialized interest or specific language you want from the channel interface. It is no longer available on Gacha Life due to inappropriate chatting and inappropriate roleplays. The chat is where you can chat with friends, change your profile, go to different channels and dress up! Everyone can see your character profile and name in the chat as seen in this picture. Use the chat with appropriate language so everybody has a safe time chatting!

There were errors in the chat feature and there was glitches that were reported involving the chat feature. If you do not want to chat more, exit the Chat Mode feature on a certain Lunime game you are playing. Now, however, the chat feature has been removed due to Gacha heat and online intercourse,

which sadly led to the chat feature to be removed from all Lunime Games.

Skit Maker

Skit Maker is made to make skits with 2 characters you can make whatever you want, however, if you change the clothes of your character it will change for every scene.
SkitMaker

How the skit looks like!

Skit Maker is a feature available on both the mobile and PC versions of Gacha Life. Skit Maker is used to make your own skits with your characters. This is also available in Gachaverse. Skit Maker is found in Home page. You can only have 1 skit at a time.

There are a total of 16 soundtracks and 100 scenes available. Each scene has a maximum of two characters. You cannot move characters freely in Skit Maker, you can only select the position of your characters. (If you change a character's clothes after/while making a skit, it will change all of the same character's clothes in previous scenes to the new clothes. If you want your character in a different outfit, make that character again in a different slot and change the clothes. However, you may change your character's face and pose in skit maker. There are 25 preset faces for you to choose from).

In Skit

You can test your skit or start your skit anytime. Tap on the left to leave the skit and the right to proceed. The difference between testing the skit and starting the skit is that when you start the skit, the title of the skit will be displayed, but not in Test Skit. Many GachaTubers upload their own skits to their YouTube channels.

While on the skit editor you can choose the skit title to anything you like! There are many options such as, Copy 1st, names (on/off), Test Skit and Start Skit.

Starting a Skit

When you have pressed the "Start Skit" button it will give you some instructions before starting your skit. The gray part tells you when you press it, it will change the skit page to the second part of the skit. However, The red part tells it will end the skit and brings you back to Skit Main page.

Test Skit

Test Skit is found in bottom right which is next to the Start Skit button. Test Skit will show you the same as Start Skit, however, it will only show the scenes of the page you're on.

Music

Music is an option found in bottom left you can change the music to these following: "Title music", "Menu Music", "Gacha Music", "Town Music", "School Music", "City Music", "Park Music", "Beach Music", "Snow Music", "Desert Music", "Bamboo Music", "Halloween", "1chi's Music", "Narwhal Game", "Pick Pawket" and the "Phantom Game".

YouTube

There were- and still are- many YouTubers that make Gacha Life videos and shared them with their subscribers. Though they previously were most used to make GLMMs (Gacha Life Mini Movies) or GLMVs (Gacha Life Music Videos), nowadays they are more recognized through short Gacha memes, with the former content now created by Gacha Club.
Gacha life agreement

Gacha life's terms and conditions.

Controversy

Certain people in the Gacha community used Gacha Life in order to create lewd/NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content. While majority of the community was against this, the problem continued, going as far for many commentary channels outside of the Gacha community made videos of the situation, further fueling the problem. Eventually, the subreddit r/GachaLifeCringe was created, causing massive hate to turn towards the community.

As of the latest updates, the ability to make inappropriate content was removed on Android, but not on iOS. The ability of making shirts and pants skin-coloured were also removed, alongside poses that were deemed too "suggestive", as well as many other items in Gacha Life.

Reviews

Gacha Life has received mixed reviews, with it being rated 4.5/5 on Google Play[1] and 4.6/5 on the App Store[2] respectively while it was rated 1/5 by Common Sense Media[3].

However, as mentioned above. Gacha Life is notorious for its inappropriate poses and clothing, along with the ability to have skin-colored parts, which would make the character look like they were nude. It was criticized as many players abused this to make inappropriate content.

In response to the criticism, Luni made an update to remove certain clothing, accessories, and poses as well as forbidding characters from having skin-colored clothing[4]. This update, unfortunately, wasn’t added to iOS, which means some players who play Gacha Life on iOS are still able to make such content.

Dressupface

This picture shows a player’s character’s appearance in Gacha Life.

Dress Up is a feature included in many Lunime games. You can dress up your characters in different outfits, and give them different functions and poses. It is included in Gacha Club, Pocket Chibi, Gacha Life, and many other games that are considered “dress up” games made by Lunime.

Description

You can make up your own characters in Gacha Life, Gacha Club, Gacha Studio, and many more upcoming Gacha games! You can start dressing up your own characters for free. You can personalize your own character using many different hairstyles, outfits, props, and much, much more! You can dress up to 20 characters of your own design. You can give your character accessories like a necklace or a hat to fit your outfit. For example, you want to add a bow to your character - that's an accessory. There are a lot of things you can do with your characters’ appearance!

Color Palettes

The color palettes are for coloring the character's skin color, clothing, shoes, socks, gloves, and belts.

The color palettes contain all colors!

Gacha Life

Compared to Gacha Club, the color palettes in Gacha life contain less colors and skin colors were removed in the Android version of Gacha Life because of sexual content uploaded on YouTube or any streaming platform.

Gacha Club

In Gacha Club, there are many more color options than Gacha Life. You can also drag your finger to the Gacha Club color palette section!

Quiz

Screenshot 2020-08-12-10-48-48-687

Now, however, the chat feature has been removed due to Gacha heat and online intercourse, which sadly led to the chat feature to be removed from all Lunime Games.

Removed Features

B6A27605-CBF1-461F-98C3-68F5E2031AF1

frameless

Removed Features are features that are no longer in Gacha Life anymore. For instance, the chat feature, several poses, and certain color codes were available during release, but after a certain period of time got removed. Many features were removed due to the inappropriate content made (in which, said features were either removed permanently and/or were replaced by another new feature).

Only Android users have received certain changes, with iOS users still having access to some of these removed features.

Examples

Specific poses such as "Pose No.57" have been deleted, alongside some mouths such as "Mouth No.149" have been changed to a visual of the mouth without the tongue. They are all speculated to have been deleted because of the Gacha heat videos involving said poses/mouths.

Exampleg

Example of edited mouths.

Additionally, when coloring a shirt and/or pants, certain colors close to those of skin colors were removed due to the inappropriate content being made.

Reviews

Gacha Life has received mixed reviews, with it being rated 4.5/5 on Google Play[5] and 4.6/5 on the App Store[6] respectively while it was rated 1/5 by Common Sense Media[7].

However, as mentioned above. Gacha Life is notorious for its inappropriate poses and clothing, along with the ability to have skin-colored parts, which would make the character look like they were nude. It was criticized as many players abused this to make inappropriate content.

In response to the criticism, Luni made an update to remove certain clothing, accessories, and poses as well as forbidding characters from having skin-colored clothing[8]. This update, unfortunately, wasn’t added to iOS, which means some players who play Gacha Life on iOS are still able to make such content.
